Transfer chute design around material flow and access
Richwood designs new and retrofit transfer chutes around material behaviour, the existing structure and wear conditions. Its retrofit design process uses Discrete Element Method (DEM) flow analysis, 3D laser scanning and project modelling. The design considers the load zone, material containment, space for belt cleaning equipment and maintenance access.
Wear lining selection follows the material properties, capacity, speed, trajectory and discharge conditions. Richwood Rock Plate™ combines high-alumina ceramic with Rock Flex® rubber and a rubber cushion layer. Application-specific modular panels are individually replaceable, with bolt-on, weld-on or magnetic attachment options. Chute and liner packages are used for coal, hard rock, aggregate and potash material handling.

Transfer chutes & liners: common questions
Can Richwood redesign an existing transfer chute?
Yes. Richwood offers retrofit chute design using 3D laser scanning of the existing structure, DEM material flow analysis and project modelling to develop the chute and liner package.
What determines the transfer chute liner selection?
Richwood considers material properties, capacity and speed, together with material trajectory and discharge conditions. Its liner range includes Rock Plate ceramic and rubber matrix panels for combined abrasion and impact protection.
Are individual chute liner panels replaceable?
Richwood uses application-specific modular panels that can be replaced individually in worn areas. Integrated maintenance access is part of the chute design, and the attachment options include bolt-on, weld-on and magnetic systems.
