Continuous belt support at conveyor loading points
Richwood Impact Saddles® provide curved support across the belt width at loading points. Each saddle combines a heavy-duty frame, rubber shock-absorbing pads and removable Ultra High Molecular Weight polyethylene (UHMW) wear segments. The curved trough profile supports the belt shape for sealing and material control, while the rubber pads dissipate loading impact.
The saddles are compatible with CEMA idlers and can be arranged as a closely spaced impact bed or spaced for lighter loading duties. Series B, Series R and Magnum Series address different impact conditions. Cushion Arc® and Full Arc idlers provide full-radius rolling support alongside the saddles. Richwood selects the arrangement from material size, belt width, belt speed and throughput.

Impact saddles & idlers: common questions
Can Impact Saddles replace existing impact idlers?
Richwood Impact Saddles are designed for interchangeability with CEMA idlers. They can replace idlers or be combined with Cushion Arc impact idlers, with the arrangement assessed for the loading duty.
Which parts of an Impact Saddle are replaceable?
The UHMW wear segments are removable and replaceable from the side of the conveyor. The saddle design uses permanent frames and rubber shock-absorbing pads beneath those wear segments.
How is the appropriate Impact Saddle series selected?
Richwood evaluates the material top size, belt width, belt speed and throughput before recommending the series and spacing. The range includes Series B, Series R and Magnum Series for different loading duties.
