Rubber lining compounds for different process duties

MSI’s lining rubber range covers natural rubber, nitrile, Neoprene and butyl compounds for wear and corrosion protection. Natural rubber families include R-Line 38 and 40, MSI 38, 40, 40 UV and 60, while Mill Backing provides a lining option behind mill liners and wear plates.

R-Line NBR and MSI NBR address oil and petroleum exposure alongside abrasion. MSI CR is a Neoprene grade, and Butyline is a butyl compound for gases, acids and chemical processing. Food Grade 40 is also listed for food processing. The range uses pre-buffed surfaces or CN bonding layers depending on the grade. Selection follows the combination of abrasion, impact, temperature, chemical exposure and the required bonding arrangement.

Lining rubber: common questions

How do MSI and R-Line lining rubber grades differ?

Grades differ by their intended duty and bonding surface. R-Line grades are supplied pre-buffed, while several MSI grades include a Neoprene or CN bonding layer.

Which rubber families are listed for oil and chemical exposure?

The range includes R-Line NBR and MSI NBR nitrile grades for oil and petroleum exposure, MSI CR Neoprene, and Butyline butyl for gases, acids and chemical duty. Selection depends on the specific exposure.

Is a rubber lining available for mill backing?

Yes. MSI offers Mill Backing Lining Rubber for use behind mill liners and wear plates. It is a pre-buffed compound offering resistance to abrasion, impact and cuts.
