High-chrome white iron and ZTA ceramic in one liner
Alien composite chute liners combine high-chrome white iron with zirconia-toughened alumina (ZTA) ceramic. The material is designed for zones exposed to heavy impact, severe abrasion and crushing loads, including mill feed chutes and transfer points.
Liners are custom shaped to the chute geometry, including radiused bases. Alien’s metal and ceramic composite addresses the severe combination of crushing load and abrasion, while rubber and ceramic matrix systems are considered where impact absorption is the main requirement.

Composite chute liners: common questions
What materials make up an Alien chute liner?
Alien uses a composite matrix of high-chrome white iron and zirconia-toughened alumina ceramic, commonly abbreviated to ZTA. The combination is designed for demanding abrasion and impact duties.
Can Alien liners be shaped for an existing chute?
Yes. Alien liners can be custom shaped, including radiused bases, to match existing chutes. The chute geometry is therefore part of the product specification.
How does Alien differ from a rubber and ceramic liner?
Alien combines white iron and ZTA ceramic for severe crushing load and abrasion. Rubber and ceramic matrix liners are considered for applications where impact absorption is the principal consideration.
